Según la publicidad de la época, tiene una base de hierro con tapa de acero que por un simple proceso se cierra sobre el libro con gran presión. Es en realidad una prensa portátil para hacer copias. En la última imagen se adjunta un anuncio publicitario americano de principios del siglo XX (no incluido en el lote), donde aparecen sus características.
