Francisco López Álvarez (1936-2024) fue un reconocido pintor y grabador español, vinculado al grupo Estampa Popular de Madrid y destacado por su compromiso con el realismo social y la crítica antifranquista. Inició su carrera como dibujante publicitario y se formó en el Círculo de Bellas Artes y la Escuela de Artes Gráficas de Madrid. Su obra evolucionó hacia bodegones y paisajes, y se conserva en museos de Europa y América. Expuso con gran éxito en Italia durante décadas, obteniendo numerosos premios. También fue profesor de grabado en instituciones de prestigio tanto en España como en Nicaragua.

Francisco López Álvarez (1936-2024) was a renowned Spanish painter and engraver, linked to the Popular Estampa group in Madrid and highlighted for his commitment to social realism and anti-Franco criticism. He began his career as an advertising cartoonist and trained in the Circle of Fine Arts and the School of Graphic Arts of Madrid. His work evolved towards still lifes and landscapes, and is preserved in museums in Europe and America. He presented with great success in Italy for decades, obtaining numerous awards. He was also professor of engraving in prestigious institutions both in Spain and in Nicaragua.
