Additional Data:
Growing up in Devon, England, Ian Nathan began painting and drawing at an early age. Other passions eclipsed his art for a time, however, as Nathan was drawn to the world of dance. Nathan joined the Royal Ballet in London and trained with them for four years. After he realized that ballet wasn’t his true calling, Nathan went back to his hometown and worked a series of labor-intensive jobs. Nathan spent two years in a graphic design program before deciding to make painting his full-time career. He immediately began showing his work in the local galleries and soon progressed show showing his work in some of London’s best galleries. In 1990, Nathan joined the Halcyon Gallery and his first one-man show sold out within the hour.
Nathan’s favorite subjects to paint are wildlife and scenes of local fisherman, who work in close proximity to his studio. Nathan is regarded by many as one of the finest artists in the country.
