Very rare bronze inkwell with beautiful patina and natural stone base. By the famous creator of display objects, Alphonse Giroux (1775-1848) . Inkwell representing a loan shark or banker carrying his purse and rubbing his hands before a new business success. Signed on the back: A. GIROUX- PARIS. In a very beautiful preserved condition, the original glass is missing. No noticeable hits or rubbing. Functional tilting lid. A hole present to insert a fountain pen or a stylus. Aprox. dimensions: total height: 11 cm. Bronze height: 8 cm. Bronze width: 7 cm. Bronze depth: 8.2 cm. Base diameter: 11'7 cm. Total weight: 1'6 kg.
