When gay pornography was still in its early stages and films were shown in specialized theaters, Al Parker made his debut in the late 1970s with movies such as Heavy Equipment and Inches, building a brilliant career. He embodied the macho ideal with his bearded look, jeans, and plaid shirts—portraying the masculine archetypes so admired by the gay community of that era, such as construction workers, lumberjacks, and policemen. In the following years, he worked extensively for COLT and Falcon Studios.
