Tomo editado por PLANETA con la segunda parte Manmachine Interface está directamente vinculada a Ghost in the Shell pero una nota aclaratoria de su creador deja bien claro que no es una continuación de la misma. El argumento se centra en la cyborg Motoko Kusanagi que tras fusionarse con una inteligencia artificial se convierte en Motoko Afraamakí que trabaja como especialista de seguridad y contraterrorismo en la red contraterrorismo encargándose de neutralizar virus o descubrir tramas de modificaciones genéticas. Brilla con luz propia es el dibujo y las páginas coloreadas por ordenador en las que se han empleado las últimas técnicas digitales. Más de la mitad de las páginas del manga son a color, algo muy atípico y la edición ha sido supervisada por el autor que no deja ningún hilo suelto con sus creaciones.
