Descripción:

- Compás de puntas de precisión, de latón y acero.

- Tiene en uno de sus brazos la marca de tres puntas coincidentes, utilizada por la fábrica inglesa Stanley Hughes en la Segunda Mitad del S.XIX.

- En ese mismo brazo, al lado de las tres puntas tiene la marca “II” en número romanos, junto al nombre Hughes.

- En el otro brazo tiene la siguiente numeración: 4535.

- Se compone de dos partes. Cuerpo y puntas. El cuerpo está hecho de latón, mientras que las puntas de acero.

- Las puntas son rígidas. Tiene una rueda que permite graduar una de las puntas con mucha precisión, manteniendo la otra fija, extremo este muy raro.

- La apertura del compás, o sea, la distancia entre puntas se gradúa haciendo girar las patas sobre la articulación, y se ajusta con precisión mediante la ruedecilla que tiene una de las patas. Ésta distancia es la que permite mantener una distancia fija para su traslado.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- No tiene óxido, y se encuentra en perfecto estado para su uso.

- Las puntas se encuentran en muy buen estado de conservación.

- El Objeto presenta el desgaste propio de su tiempo.

Comentarios:

- Tanto las Medidas, como el Peso, son aproximados.

- Muy interesante como pieza de colección y como elemento decorativo.

- Los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

Description:

- Precision-tipped compass, made of brass and steel.

- It has on one of its arms the mark of three coincident points, used by the English factory Stanley Hughes in the second half of the 19th century.

- On the same arm, next to the three prongs, it has the mark "II" in Roman numerals, next to the name Hughes.

- On the other arm it has the following numbering: 4535.

- It consists of two parts. Body and tips. The body is made of brass, while the tips are made of steel.

- The tips are rigid. It has a wheel that allows one of the points to be graduated very accurately, while keeping the other fixed, which is very rare.

- The aperture of the compass, i.e. the distance between the points, is adjusted by turning the legs on the joint, and is precisely adjusted by means of a wheel on one of the legs. It is this distance that allows a fixed distance to be maintained for moving it.

Preservation and damage:

- There is no rust, and it is in perfect condition for use.

- The tips are in very good condition.

- The object shows wear and tear typical of it’s age.
