Exeptionel Melo Jazz Modell JM2 ...

Artisan Josep Melo is from Barcelona, the centre of modern design.

Every year he produces a limited run of handcrafted guitars including archtop, flattop, classical and electric guitars which are specially designed by Josep to suit the needs of the individual player. Each guitar is made with meticulous care and attention to detail and rooted in the oldest European traditions. Motivated by his thirst for learning he has benefited from the experience and friendship of luthiers such as J. D'Aquisto, J.Romanillos and S. Klein.

This is the JM2 model.

The combination of the JM2's 17" body and the perfectly arched top and back result in a guitar with exceptional balance. 16 of the 24 frets are clear of he body, meaning that playing in the upper register won't be a problem at all.

This is a loud archtop that can actually be used unplugged just like a normal acoustic guitar. The special shape of the f holes and the depth of the body are responsible for that.

Back and sides are made from the highest grade of European flamed maple and the top is made from solid spruce. Fingerboard, bridge, tailpiece and knob are all made from ebony. A Humbacker pickup is used to capture the big and resonant body of this impressive guitar.

Finish is nitro.
