ANTOINE GALLAND fue un orientalista y arqueólogo francés,primer traductor europeo de las MIL Y UNA NOCHES.

GALLAND viajó durante largos años por el MEDIO ORIENTE donde copió innumerables inscripciones en manuscritos.

En 1704 comenzó a publicar "LAS MIL Y UNA NOCHES",adecuandola a los gustos europeos pero sin perder de vista el espíritu de la narrativa árabe.
