CLIMB FOR THE EVENING STAR - TOM MAYER

Hardback, 1972, mint green linen cloth over boards with gilt font on cover and spine, both bright and clean, HARD cover, 116 pps + blk / white illus. Interior pages unmarked, clean and tight. No former owner marks. Lightly bumped corners are only noted flaw. Dust jacket is not price clipped, clean, with a small tear on the back, and on the spine, shows minimal shelf wear and now under mylar wraps, has light spotting on edges. This book is one pilot's illuminating record of his experiences, linking all the aspects of flight that have, in turn, exhilarated, frightened, repulsed and delighted him. Combining his experiences as an owner and pilot of a Beechcraft Staggerwing with his lauded writing gifts (Guggenheim Fellowship, '66) makes this an immensely enjoyable read.,
