Curro Jiménez fue la primera gran serie de la Transición española: ahí la historia de un barquero de Cantillana que sobrevive con lo que gana a partir del paso de personas y animales Guadalquivir arriba, Guadalquivir abajo. Sin embargo, un día pierde su trabajo y decide tirarse al monte a hacer justicia poética, convirtiéndose en una suerte de Robin Hood patrio.

La serie, emitida en TVE desde 1976 a 1978 y creada por el dramaturgo Antonio Larreta, acogió colaboraciones puntuales de actores como Terele Pávez, Charo López, Eduardo Fajardo, Juan Ribó, Emma Cohen, Bárbara Rey, Florinda Chico e incluso Isabel Pantoja. En Curro Jiménez llegaron a participar figuras de tanto peso como Pilar Miró, Mario Camus, Francisco Rovira Beleta o Antonio Drove.
