Sitzendorf - Figurita, Dama (1) - Porcelana
Figura biscuit dama, Manufactura Sitzendorf, s. XIX -

Sitzendorf - Figurine, Lady (1) - Porcelain
Germany - 19th century
Lady biscuit figure, Sitzendorf Manufacture, c. XIX-
Porcelain from Thuringia (Germany)
Wonderful biscuit figure made in the Thuringia region. The Sitzendorf Factory was characterized by creating special porcelain pieces, full of color and grace.
The first porcelain factory in Sitzendorf was founded in 1760 by the alchemist Georg Heinrich Macheleidt under the patronage of the Prince of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt. At first the production was modest but in 1762 the prince quickly moved it near the Palace in Volkstedt. Sitzendorf is therefore the cradle of Thuringian porcelain.
Towards the middle of the 18th century, French-inspired biscuits began to be cultivated, as in this case. Thus, soft and serene tones are achieved that make the figure delicate and refined. An elegant Central European bourgeois lady is depicted wearing her best clothes. The polychromy is wonderful, it is balanced, and in it the pink tones predominate with delicate notes of blue and gold.
The factory brand appears on the back.
It has a small flaw in the hat.
