Descripción:

- Precioso grabado de Auguste Trichon y Gastón Monvoisin, basado en una de las representaciones de “Isaac recibe a Rebeca” por Gustave Doré, perteneciente a la colección de Ilustraciones de la Santa Biblia.

- Grabado realizado sobre plancha de madera, xilografía, en tonos monocolor negro. Firmado en la plancha por Auguste Trichon y Gastón Monvoisin, como grabadores, y Gustave Doré como dibujante. El título aparece fuera de la plancha.

- Paul Gustave Doré (1832 – 1883) de origen francés e inspiración romántica, fue un artista polifacético: ilustrador, grabador, dibujante, pintor y escultor. Reconocido internacionalmente por sus contemporáneos, su éxito como ilustrador fue inmenso y su renombre mundial.

- Auguste Trichon (1814–1898) estudió en la real Escuela de Dibujo de París y aprendió arte en madera con Henri Brown. Proporcionó ilustraciones en madera para libros infantiles y dirigió una escuela de arte en madera para niñas. 

- Gastón Monvoisin (1821–1906) sobrino del famoso pintor francés Raymond Monvoisin (1794-1870). Gastón fue un reconocido grabador en madera.

- La Santa Biblia, publicada en 1866 era una edición de gran folio publicada en dos volúmenes simultáneamente. Las Ilustraciones de la Santa Biblia son una serie de 241 grabados, diseñados por Gustave Doré.

 

Conservación y desperfectos:

- Estado General: Bueno.

- El Grabado tiene un papel blanco de espesor medio.

- Tiene muy buenos márgenes y la imagen está centrada.

- Esta muy bien de tinta, y tiene una buena estampación.

- Los bordes sucios, con pequeños rotos y dobladuras.

- Las puntas están levemente deterioradas con ligeros pliegues y doblados.

- El Grabado no ha sufrido agresiones externas como humedad, ataques de insectos, roedores, etc.

- Si se le aplica un ligero lavado y blanqueado, el resultado sería muy bueno.

 

Comentarios:

- Las Medidas son aproximadas.

- Grabado ideal como pieza de colección y elemento decorativo.

- Es muy difícil de encontrar. Presenta el desgaste propio de su tiempo.

- Debido a que es inevitable las diferencias de tonalidades entre fotos y realidad, se debe tener presente que los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son exactamente iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

Description:

- Beautiful engraving by Auguste Trichon and Gaston Monvoisin, based on one of the representations of "Isaac receives Rebecca" by Gustave Doré, from the Holy Bible Illustrations collection.

- Engraving made on a wooden plate, xylography, in single-colour black tones. Signed on the plate by Auguste Trichon and Gaston Monvoisin, as engravers, and Gustave Doré as draughtsman. The title appears outside the plate.

- Paul Gustave Doré (1832 - 1883), of French origin and romantic inspiration, was a versatile artist: illustrator, engraver, draftsman, painter and sculptor. Internationally recognized by his contemporaries, his success as an illustrator was immense and his worldwide renown.

- Auguste Trichon (1814-1898) studied at the Royal School of Drawing in Paris and learned woodworking from Henri Brown. He provided wooden illustrations for children's books and ran a wooden art school for girls. 

- Gaston Monvoisin (1821-1906) was the nephew of the famous French painter Raymond Monvoisin (1794-1870). Gaston was a renowned wood engraver.

- The Holy Bible, published in 1866, was a large folio edition published in two volumes simultaneously. The Illustrations of the Holy Bible are a series of 241 engravings, designed by Gustave Doré.

 

Conservation and damage:

- General condition: Good.

- The engraving is on medium-thickness white paper.

- It has very good margins and the image is centred.

- It is very well inked, and has good printing.

- The edges are dirty, with small tears and folds.

- The ends are slightly deteriorated with slight folds and folds.

- The engraving has not suffered any external aggressions such as humidity, insect or rodent attacks, etc.

- If it is slightly washed and bleached, the result would be very good.

 

Comments:

- The measurements are approximate.

- Engraving is ideal as a collector's item and a decorative element.

- It is very difficult to find. It presents the wear and tear of its time.
