Descripción:

- Grabado correspondiente a la Lámina 9 de Botánica, perteneciente a la Enciclopedia Popular Ilustrada de Ciencias y Artes, realizada por Federico Gillman, y formada con arreglo a la Enciclopedia Iconográfica y el Conversations Lexicon de Alemania.

- En el grabado aparece una gran variedad de plantas, como pueden ser: Alsophila Armata, Schizaea bífida, Helecho real, Ophioglossum vulgatum, llamada comúnmente ‘Lengua de serpiente’, etc.

- En el margen superior tiene el título “BOTÁNICA”, y en el ángulo superior derecho tiene impreso “Lam. 9”, lo que lo identifica como el Grabado número 9 de una serie sobre botánica.

- En el margen inferior se sitúan las identificaciones de los distintos tipos de plantas, tales como Equisetum arvense (cola de rata), Lycopodium clavatum (licopodio pie de lobo), pilularia globobifera, etc. así como la impresión “Gras y Compañía. Editores. Madrid”

- Grabado Calcográfico al aguafuerte sobre acero, aunque también podría haberse utilizado otra técnica distinta.

- Realizado en tono monocolor negro, muy bien de tinta, centrado con aceptables márgenes y con una buena estampación.

- Que el Grabado tenga algún Distintivo, Marca o Contraste, es de gran importancia para poder identificar datos como su grabador, el dibujante, el sitio donde se imprimió y otros detalles.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- Estado General Bueno.

- El Grabado tiene un papel de espesor medio y regular calidad.

- El papel está algo sucio y apenas tiene manchas de óxido.

- El Grabado tiene pequeños rotos y dobleces en los bordes y las puntas.

- Si se le aplica una limpieza, el resultado podría ser muy aceptable.

Comentarios:

- Grabado ideal como elemento decorativo.

- Los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

Description:

- Engraving corresponding to Plate 9 of Botany, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.

- The engraving shows a wide variety of plants, such as: Alsophila Armata, Schizaea bifida, Royal fern, Ophioglossum vulgatum, commonly called 'Snake's tongue', etc.

- In the upper margin is the title "BOTÁNICA", and in the upper right-hand corner is printed "Lam. 9", which identifies it as Engraving number 9 of a series on botany.

- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different types of plants, such as Equisetum arvense (rat's tail), Lycopodium clavatum (lycopodium wolf's foot), pilularia globobifera, etc., as well as the imprint "Gras y Compañía. Editores. Madrid".
