Descripción:

- Grabado correspondiente a la Lámina 1 de Química, perteneciente a la Enciclopedia Popular Ilustrada de Ciencias y Artes, realizada por Federico Gillman, y formada con arreglo a la Enciclopedia Iconográfica y el Conversations Lexicon de Alemania.

- En el grabado aparecen las distintas salas del Laboratorio químico de la Universidad de Leipzig.

- En el margen superior tiene el título “QUÍMICA”, y en el ángulo superior derecho tiene impreso “Lam. 1”, lo que lo identifica como el Grabado número 1 de una serie sobre Química.

- En el margen inferior se sitúan las identificaciones de las diferentes salas del Laboratorio, así como la impresión “Gras y Compañía. Editores. Madrid”

- Grabado Calcográfico al aguafuerte sobre acero, aunque también podría haberse utilizado otra técnica distinta.

- Realizado en tono monocolor negro, muy bien de tinta, centrado con aceptables márgenes y con una buena estampación.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- Estado General Bueno.

- El Grabado tiene un papel de espesor fino y regular calidad.

- El papel está sucio, con manchas de óxido, más acentuadas en la parte trasera.

- El Grabado tiene pequeños rotos y dobleces en los bordes y las puntas.

- Si se le aplica una limpieza, el resultado podría ser muy aceptable.

Comentarios:

- Las Medidas son aproximadas.

- Grabado ideal como elemento decorativo.

- Que el Grabado tenga algún Distintivo, Marca o Contraste, es de gran importancia para poder identificar datos como su grabador, el dibujante, el sitio donde se imprimió y otros detalles.

- Debido a que es inevitable las diferencias de tonalidades entre fotos y realidad, se debe tener presente que los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son exactamente iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

- El Grabado en venta es el que se corresponde con las fotos, que a su vez se complementan en esta Descripción, con el objetivo de proporcionar un mejor conocimiento del Objeto, y nunca ser una exposición detallada del mismo.

Description:

- Engraving corresponding to Plate 1 of Chemistry, belonging to the Popular Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Sciences and Arts, made by Federico Gillman, and formed according to the Iconographic Encyclopaedia and the Conversations Lexicon of Germany.

- The engraving shows the various rooms of the Chemical Laboratory of the University of Leipzig.

- In the upper margin is the title "CHEMISTRY", and in the upper right-hand corner is printed "Lam. 1", which identifies it as Engraving No. 1 in a series on Chemistry.

- In the lower margin are the identifications of the different rooms of the Laboratory, as well as the imprint "Gras y Compañía. Editors. Madrid".

- Intaglio etching on steel, although another technique could also have been used.

- Made in black monochrome, very well inked, centred with acceptable margins and with a good stamping.

Conservation and damage:

- General condition Good.

- The engraving is on thin paper of fair quality.

- The paper is dirty, with rust stains, more accentuated on the back.

- The engraving has small tears and creases at the edges and tips.

- If a cleaning is applied to it, the result could be very acceptable.

Comments:

- Measurements are approximate.

- Ideal engraving as a decorative element.

- It is of great importance that the engraving has some Distinctive, Mark or Contrast, in order to be able to identify data such as the engraver, the artist, the place where it was printed and other details.

- Due to the unavoidable differences in tonalities between photos and reality, it must be taken into account that the tones of the colours of the photos are not exactly the same as the tones of the real colours.
