Descripción:

- Grabado de la Torre de San Cristóbal en Berna, Suiza. Construida por la ciudad-estado de Berna cuando se levantó, empezó en 1191 y fue finalizada en 1256, el reloj se pone en movimiento 4 minutos antes de la hora completa. Tiene un reloj astronómico que data del S.XVI.

- Todos los títulos y firmas están fuera de la plancha. El Dibujante es desconocido.

- En el margen superior tiene la leyenda “Suiza - Suisse”.

- En el margen inferior tiene la leyenda “Tour du Grand St. Cristophe á Berne – Torre de S. Cristóbal en Berna”.

- En el ángulo superior derecho tiene impreso el número “15”, lo que hace suponer que el Grabado es el número 15 de una serie.

- En el ángulo inferior derecho, el Grabador firma sólo como Rouargue, por lo que es de uno de los dos hermanos Rouargue. En nuestra opinión, el autor de la plancha del Grabado es muy probablemente Adolphe Rouargue (1810 – Después de 1870)

- Grabado Calcográfico al aguafuerte sobre plancha de acero, aunque también podría haberse utilizado otra técnica distinta

- Realizado en tono monocolor negro, muy bien de tinta

- Probablemente es un Grabado perteneciente a un libro.

Conservación y desperfectos:

- Estado General: Bueno.

- El lado superior del papel no mantiene la paralela a su lado opuesto, resultando el papel del Grabado con forma irregular. Los márgenes laterales son escasos e irregulares.

- El Grabado tiene un papel de espesor fino y regular calidad.

- Esta muy bien de tinta, y tiene una buena estampación.

- El Grabado ha sufrido humedad, por lo que el papel tiene manchas de humedad y puntos de óxido.

- El Grabado está sucio, teniendo los bordes bastante más sucios, con pequeñísimos rotos, y las puntas levemente deterioradas con ligeros doblados.

- Si se le aplica un ligero lavado y blanqueado, el resultado sería muy bueno.

Comentarios:

- Las Medidas son aproximadas. Presenta el desgaste propio de su tiempo.

- Grabado ideal como pieza de colección y elemento decorativo.

- Que el Grabado tenga algún Distintivo, Marca o Contraste, es de gran importancia para poder identificar datos como su grabador, el dibujante, el sitio donde se imprimió y otros destalles.

- Debido a que es inevitable las diferencias de tonalidades entre fotos y realidad, se debe tener presente que los tonos de los colores de las fotos no son exactamente iguales a los tonos de los colores reales.

- El Grabado en venta es el que se corresponde con las fotos, que a su vez se complementan en esta Descripción, con el objetivo de proporcionar un mejor conocimiento del Objeto, y nunca ser una exposición detallada del mismo.

Description:

- Engraving of the Tower of St. Christopher in Bern, Switzerland Built by the city-state of Bern when it was erected, started in 1191 and completed in 1256, the clock is set in motion 4 minutes before the full hour. It has an astronomical clock dating from the 16th century.

- All the titles and signatures are outside the plate. The Draughtsman is unknown.

- On the upper margin it has the legend "Switzerland - Suisse".

- On the lower margin it has the legend "Tour du Grand St. Christophe á Berne - Tower of St. Christopher in Berne".

- In the upper right-hand corner it is printed with the number "15", which suggests that the engraving is the 15th in a series.

- In the lower right-hand corner, the Engraver signs only as Rouargue, so it belongs to one of the two Rouargue brothers. In our opinion, the author of the plate of the Engraving is most probably Adolphe Rouargue (1810 - After 1870)

- Etching on steel plate, although a different technique could have been used

- Made in black monochrome tone, very good ink

- It is probably an engraving belonging to a book.

Conservation and damage:

- General condition: Good.

- The upper side of the paper does not maintain the parallel to its opposite side, resulting in the paper of the Engraving having an irregular shape. The side margins are scarce and irregular.

- The Engraving has a thin and regular quality paper.

- It is very well inked, and has a good printing.

- The Engraving has suffered from humidity, so the paper has damp spots and rust spots.

- The Engraving is dirty, having the edges quite a bit dirtier, with very small tears, and the ends slightly deteriorated with slight folds.

- If you apply a light wash and bleaching, the result would be very good.

Comments:

- The measurements are approximate. It shows the wear and tear typical of its time.

- Ideal as a collector's item and a decorative element.

- The fact that the engraving has a distinctive mark or contrast is very important in order to identify data such as the engraver, the artist, the place where it was printed and other details.
