We have taken that format and added a short lesson or comment before the game to stimulate the student in his study. The games selected are the greatest games played in the 1980's.

When there is a double author, the question arises "who wrote what?" And the answer is .....

The INTRODUCTION is taken mainly from the earlier book. The names Evans or Smith are in front of the paragraphs written by each. The CHAPTER TITLE and LESSON or COMMENT BEFORE THE GAME is by Grandmaster Larry Evans. The ANNOTATIONS TO THE GAMES are by Ken Smith assisted by the research and help of the Editor, John Hall.
