In variety of openings and diversity of play, the match was distinctly above average. Its final result, 20-12 for the USSR, once more confirmed the Russians as the world's best players--and at the same time justified Hungary's claim to second place on match play results. USSR beat the Argentine team 20 1/2 - 11 1/2 and the USA by 20-12 and (a few weeks after this match) by 25-7. Thirty two games with score charts and round by round resume of the games.
