Very rare and unique book of the Order of Christ (extinct Templar Order), “Diffiniçoens, & Estatutos dos Cavalleyros, e Freyres da Ordem de Nosso Senhor Jesu Christo com a História da Origem, & principio della”. A work of great importance that includes illustrations and information relating to the structure of the Order of Christ.
This book is unique because it comes from the Convento de Cristo in Tomar (the last Templar bastion), has the signature of a brother of the Order who had extensive descendants of grand masters of the Order, and because of its unprecedented content.
An extremely important fact is that pages relating to chapters were purposefully torn out and rewritten in order to correct and add information different from that published, which makes this book different from all the others and unique, where the handwritten section is carried out by a individual of the Order and resident at the Convento de Cristo.
It has a more backward vellum binding, probably from an old convent book, some humidity damage and acidity peaks, however it is in good general condition, with the manuscripts in very good condition allowing for clear reading.
