Excepcional obra realizada por el artista vallisoletano Andrés Mende, activo durante la última década del siglo XX y principios del siglo actual. Esta obra abstracta sorprende al espectador gracias al contraste de colores y el estudio minucioso del trazo. Sus líneas encajan en cualquier espacio contemporáneo, siguiendo con el estilo, o en un ambiente más clásico, como obra rompedora. Fechada en la parte posterior por el autor en 2015. La expresión de la obra se ayuda de la paleta cromática, ya que en el autor siempre predominan los colores negros, pardos y ocres, que suelen contrastar con algún otro color, como en este caso el rojo. De esta manera, aporta profundidad y más dinamismo al resultado. Su estilo se adscribe al informalismo abstracto, que podría considerarse una vertiente del expresionismo abstracto europeo. El informalismo nace en Europa tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial y se caracteriza por la inclusión de distintos materiales en las obras. Valiéndose del azar y la improvisación se crean obras matéricas, con una base ideológica vinculada al existencialismo y la subjetividad individual. Se diferencia del expresionismo abstracto americano en que es más poético, más estático y más discreto que éste.

Esta pintura es eminentemente mental, nada surge de manera aleatoria ni por azar. Las composiciones están premeditadas, cada trazo está pensado. Juega con el color, con la geometría, con las líneas rectas y con las manchas, El resultado es una pintura vibrante, irreal y lírica.

Su estilo recuerda en gran medida al de Fernando Zóbel, artista de origen filipino reconocido a nivel mundial. Para él, el descubrimiento de la pintura de Rothko, Pollock, Kooning… supuso la huída de la figuración, uniéndose al informalismo y el expresionismo abstracto. Sin embargo, poco a poco, Zóbel se alejó del dramatismo expresionista pasa basar su pintura en la desnudez de la línea y el movimiento sugerido a través de los trazos que cruzan el papel.

Sobre el arte abstracto

El arte abstracto es un estilo de expresión artística que se caracteriza por representar conceptos abstraídos de la realidad o independientes de lo reconocible por los sentidos, a través de la libertad, la irracionalidad y la diversidad de las formas, las líneas y los colores. Es decir, es un arte subjetivo que no representa de manera precisa o figurativa la realidad visual que percibe el ser humano. Surgió alrededor del 1900 y fue el eje del arte moderno que abarcó diversos movimientos artísticos, como el cubismo, el surrealismo y De Stijl. El arte abstracto permite generar diversas interpretaciones o puntos de vista según el receptor debido a que no busca alcanzar la perfección del trazo ni las composiciones verosímiles. Es considerado como un arte que alcanza otra dimensión de la moral y la espiritualidad, porque expresa emociones y sensaciones separadas de la lógica y la objetividad.

Exceptional work made by the Valladolid artist Andrés Mende, active during the last decade of the 20th century and the beginning of the current century. The expression of the work is helped by the color palette, since the author always uses black, brown and ocher colors, which usually contrast with some other color, such as in this case red. In this way, it provides depth and more dynamism to the result. His style is ascribed to abstract informalism, which could be considered a branch of European abstract expressionism. Informalism was born in Europe after the Second World War and is characterized by the inclusion of different materials in the works. Using chance and improvisation, material works are created, with an ideological basis linked to existentialism and individual subjectivity. It differs from American abstract expressionism in that it is more poetic, more static and more discreet than it.

This painting is eminently mental, nothing arises randomly or by chance. The compositions are premeditated, each stroke is thought out. Play with color, geometry, straight lines and stains. The result is a vibrant, unreal and lyrical painting.

His style is largely reminiscent of that of Fernando Zóbel, an artist of Filipino origin recognized worldwide. For him, the discovery of the painting of Rothko, Pollock, Kooning... meant the escape from figuration, joining informalism and abstract expressionism. However, little by little, Zóbel moved away from expressionist drama and based his painting on the nakedness of the line and the movement suggested through the strokes that cross the paper.
