[publisher: New York: Greenwich House, 1982, New York] First Edition VG/VG. 1st Thus. 26.5cm deep By 23cm. First published in Italian in 1980 this translation brought this biography of a famed name in motor racing and automobile design/production to readers of English. It traces Ferrari's life and work from his boyhood, his racing career beginning in 1919 through his enormous impact on GP and sports car racing post-WWII. As well as the man himself and his cars the book focuses on the Ferrari drivers, team administrators and technicians/designers. 167 pages, including index, illustrated throughout with b/w photos, with some colour in the 22 pages multi-photo review of Ferrari models from 1952 to 1977. Most appealing are the 21 side profiles in racing colours of Formula One cars to 1979 and 14 sports models. A number of the former are accompanied by b/w three-views. The Italian Racing Red hard covers are excellent, as is the text block apart from very light browning to the end-papers. The art/pictorial DJ has very light creasing top edges.
